My wife and I are off to Hevingham this morning, to babysit our eldest granddaughter while her mum and dad go Christmas shopping, and then we have a little Christmas shopping of our own to do.
Before we leave for Hevingham, I take the dog for a quick walk, fill the log basket for this evening and then pop into Cromer to pick up my mum’s ashes from the funeral director – my younger brother and I plan to scatter her ashes over Barton Broad tomorrow afternoon (weather permitting).
My wife entertains our granddaughter while I surf the internet on my iPad, catching up on the latest news. By the time we leave Hevingham to go to do our Christmas shopping it’s starting to get dark and I’m really not feeling like traipsing around the shops, but time is running out, so we go shopping.
We get back to Southrepps in the dark, and I light the fire while my wife prepares dinner. Time for a beer, some cannabis and some Netflix.
